10 Interesting Google Chrome OS Mock-up Designs

Posted by jun auza On 8/30/2009
We may never see the first development version of Google Chrome Operating System until the beginning of next year. We can however look at some mock-up desktop designs of Chrome OS which are scattered throughout the web.

I've collected some of the best looking and interesting mock-ups, and you will be the judge if any of them can closely resemble or shall I say predict the look of the "real version" of Chrome OS once it comes out:

  1. Trixie Said,

The first one looks good but I'm sure Google can do a lot better than all of those mockups.

  2. Bruce Said,

Superb mock-up designs, but lets see what Google can do with their GUI designers.

I vote it's gonna look something like #6, basic, very gnome-like.

  4. I'd bet on #2 because it has the simplest and most Google-like design of them all.

btw: Most of them look very Windows-oriented.

Wow, these are some boring designs. I hope Google can come up with something a little more innovative/intriguing. If it's just another linux OS, I don't think people are going to care very much.

Come on, Google! We're rooting for another Gmail, not another Lively.

I think it's not really good,it is bad anyway.
the best is linux OS and Windows

  7. Evan Byrne Said,

#1 and #2 are really the only good mockups here...

  8. Anonymous Said,

Apparently, ChromeOS will have a "status bar", that has the time, and application menu, a "Chrome button", and a battery indicator.

  9. Gavin Coles Said,

I just hope that Google getting in to the desktop market will tempt more Windows only software vendors to produce for the Linux market.

  10. Anonymous Said,

    I like #1 and #2.
