It installs a copy of Ubuntu onto your existing system just like a regular application, and when it's done, you can boot into either Windows or Ubuntu when you restart your machine. If you decide you don't like it, just remove it like any other Windows program.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I did this recently with a friend's Vista laptop, and was shocked that it recognized all his hardware--even his nonstandard screen geometry.
