I am hoping that every release has some magic linux dust on it that would make my pentium 3 pc run better. So far so good. Dapper was slow on my PC. Hardy was significantly better. So I am guessing Ibex would be the same. Maybe it is psychological. While you don't have to upgrade to the new release, you will read a thousand reviews talking about how great it is, you'll start to feel left behind and the next thing you know you're hitting that upgrade button. I say fight the urge! Stick it out with your current install for the next year. I ran dapper until hardy came out, and I don't really feel like I missed a thing.
