  1. That's what I like about Americans, they know what they are doing.

By far, Obama's campaign is the most well organized campaign I have ever seen. Very very well done.

In the states - they contribute to the candidates funds.

Here, the candidate pays people to vote for him.

We are in an upside down democracy.

  5. Wow. Two pro-American comments - and no anti-American ones? And from people I assume are not Americans.... Wow. Maybe Obama getting elected has turned our reputation overseas around.

On a side note, where can I get this "vote for me" money? That doesn't sound too upside down to me! ;)

    (Proud to be an American)

  6. Funny... what about this?

On January 17, 2008, Obama told The San Francisco Chronicle he opposes coal-fired plants, which supply half of the nation’s electricity needs.

“… if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama told the paper in January. “It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

  7. ^^
Please note that Obama is enthusiastic about CLEAN coal power, not just any sort of coal power. This combined with his environmental policies will probably end up with extra taxes being heaped onto those with less-than-adequate regard for the environment, which I don't really have a problem with.
... even though coal really shouldn't be on the table anymore. The US seriously needs to move towards TRUE renewable, clean energy.

  8. This is the type of thing he's going to do. It's small, but it's only been 2 days and he's not even president yet!

To me, it's amazing... in less than 2 days prior after he was elected president, he's already put up a web site that details his administration and provides a better understanding as to what is going on in the government.

I'm very VERY excited for the next 4yrs (and hopefully 8)

  9. One very important thing left out:
Obama said that he'd appoint the very first Chief Technical Officer (or maybe it was it Adviser) as an aid to the President.

Rumors have it that Eric Schmidt is of interest.

  11. Examples of the output of the best speech writers Soros' money can buy. Most of these quotes are typical generic political BS boilerplate produced to make it sound if you know what you are talking about. Just read the words for what they are instead of worshiping the guy. We wish him and the country well.

The part about firing government managers who are not getting results is hilarious. He just hired every worn-out Clinton administration has-been you can think of. Fresh faces? New ideas? Back to the 1990s? No one asked him during the campaign who he was going to hire. Wonder why?
