Linux Secret Lovers

Some Windows users secretly love Linux. They want to use Linux but are too chicken to install it on their hard drive. So, they use a program like Windows Blinds to radically alter the graphical user interface of their Windows desktop and make it look like that of Linux. To prove it, here are some screenshots of Linux secret lovers' desktop.

and what would you say to people skinning linux to look like XP? Or worse: people making distros specifically to look, feel and be structured like windows and macs?

just a glimpse of the other side of the fence.

If you want to try Linux, but don't want to mess up your existing Windows box, try Wubi. It installs a copy of Ubuntu onto your existing system just like a regular application, and when it's done, you can boot into either Windows or Ubuntu when you restart your machine. If you decide you don't like it, just remove it like any other Windows program.

I did this recently with a friend's Vista laptop, and was shocked that it recognized all his hardware--even his nonstandard screen geometry. And searching for wireless access points is easy and seamless, too.

I use linux and my favourite theme is leopardish, but i do just fine with the default too

Linux is more than its bells and whistles,besides nowadays its dead easy to get it up n running in no time.

I love xp its solid and works, so what if i skin it to look like OS X or Linux for me its all about which gui set up is the most productive

So they want the graphical niceties of Linux *without* having to spend 15 hours configuring xorg.conf for xinerama every time they plug in a second monitor? I sympathise...

i think lots of people just have windows for their apps (MS Word/Excel) and their games. that is the reaso why i double booted about a year ago, and they can work more flexible in their linux environment
(litestep really is usefull for that, because it replaces explorer.exe for its own graphicall shell (not window decorator) i used it under windows 98 to have a run-like menu with tab completion on much used apps)

Debian/Linux and FreeBSD user now :P

LOL... They're use windowblinds instead install it inside the native system. But I think right now windows users also can use Linux at one harddisk by using Wubi. You can read this tutorial: http://allforlinux.blogspot.com/2008/03/installing-ubuntu-by-using-wubi.html

Windows Blinds makes Windows look like Linux? What nonsense. It applies themes and how your operating system looks depends upon the theme.

uhmm.. I use Window Blinds and WindowFX to make XP look like Vista :D
