Best Karaoke Apps for Android

- - No comments
Remember that scene in the movie Lost in Translation? Oh yeah that famous karaoke scene where Bill Murray belts out a Roxy Music classic totally out of tune, yet somehow, the scene just leaves you breathless.

No one can deny the magic of karaoke. The fun you have singing your favorite songs without caring much what other people think of your vocal talent is just subliminal. That said, not everyone can enjoy karaoke all the time, unless, of course, you’re living in Japan. You can find a nice karaoke bar nearby, but that doesn't always work out when all your friends are busy.

To whet your singing appetite however, there are hundreds of karaoke apps and tools out there undiscovered. In fact, our very own Android comes with a nice set of apps that let you sing at your loudest in the comfort of your living room. So, if you’re on the hunt for some of the best karaoke apps for Android, here’s a rundown of the ones we find unmissable.

Android Karaoke - Sing-Along

Android Karaoke is a free app that lets you sing to more than 1000 popular karaoke videos. With a simple interface and great search functionality, the application lets you find your favorite songs by title or by artist. Once you've found your favorite song, the lyrics show up in bright colors just like you’d see on a local karaoke machine. Furthermore, if your favorite song is not there on the list, you can request for it right from the main screen. Overall, the app can be rated as one of the best in this genre; however, the ads and the bugs leave a lot to be desired. Rated 3.2 out of 5 stars, Android Karaoke is freely available for download from the marketplace.

Ulduzsoft Karaoke Player (BETA)

This next app, despite being in beta, manages to impress the karaoke enthusiast in me. Karaoke Player is a fully featured karaoke app that lets you make the most out of your karaoke collection. And though the app doesn't come bundled with its own songs, you can download titles from Amazon and use them with the player. Moreover, you can manage your entire karaoke collection, which includes customizing lyrics, changing font size and more. Rated 3.7 out of 5 stars, Karaoke Player is available for download as a trial version from the Google Play Store.

Red Karaoke

One of the most feature-laden apps on the list is Red Karaoke. This free app lets you sing to your favorite songs in full screen with your own image in the background and running lyrics. Once you install the app, you get 20 complimentary songs so that you can try out the app in its full glory. To get access to more songs, you have to get a VIP membership that offers 45,000 + songs for download.

One of the best features of this app is that it lets you record your own voice and share it to the world. So, for a change, if you end up singing in tune, you might not want to lose out on something that you could brag to your friends for years to come. Also, one advantages of this app is that it lets you download the songs from just about anywhere; that is, there are no country restrictions. Since the app doesn't require any microphone or earphones, you can use your phone as a karaoke machine and sing in groups. And you can then record that video (using the phone’s front camera) and share it to the world. Rated 3.6 out of 5 stars, Red Karaoke is freely available for download from the marketplace.

Karaoke-A-GoGo

This next app lets you play high quality MP3+G and CDG files from your SD card. Though the app doesn't come with its own songs, you can very well build playlists and more with the songs you own. The interface is too simple and a bit childish; however, the app works great. Though not free, Karaoke-A-GoGo is rated 4.0 out of 5 stars in the Play Store.
